Alumni Spotlight

Barb Consigny is Elmbrook's 2024 Alumni Excellence Award winner and a member of the original graduating class of Brookfield Central in 1958. She taught at Brookfield Elementary from 1986 to 2004 and we brought her back for a visit.

Brookfield East Class of 1964

Dan Buran is one of the members of the original graduating class of Brookfield East in 1964, and now his grandchildren are also benefiting from Elmbrook’s high-quality educational opportunities.

Brookfield Central Class of 1958

Barbara Consigny is a member of the original graduating class of Brookfield Central (BC) in 1958, and continued to give back to the community as a Brookfield Elementary Kindergarten teacher for many years.

Brookfield East graduate Caroline Westrick (‘18) and Brookfield Central graduate Zach Heckman (‘18) are the recipients of the District’s 2023 Alumni Excellence Awards. The awards are being presented to Caroline and Zach who were some of the first members of Elmbrook’s LAUNCH program in 2018 and have since gone on to have careers in the fields they studied in the program. These awards will be presented as part of the Engaged in Excellence Awards celebration on Monday, May 1, which will be held at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and available on the Elmbrook Schools YouTube channel.

Brookfield East Class of 2018

Caroline Westrick is a 2018 Spartan graduate who is giving back to the community that raised her through her work as an educator at Wisconsin Hills Middle School.

Brookfield East Class of 2012
Thomas Wester (East ‘12), graduated first in his class of 1,078 at the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in 2016. In addition to his top honor, in 2022 he was selected as the U.S. Navy’s Shiphandler of the Year!

Brookfield East Class of 2005

Kristen Leffelman is a 2005 Spartan graduate whose love of history has brought her to work as an Outreach Coordinator for the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Brookfield Central Class of 2015

Bradley Bartelt is a 2015 Lancer graduate who works at the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, and continues to give back to the club that shaped him during his time at Central - Key Club.

Brookfield Central graduate Tom Vento ('86), and Brookfield East graduate Damian Buchman ('97) are the recipients of the District's 2022 Alumni Excellence awards. The awards are being presented to Tom and Damian for their service to the greater Elmbrook community and their resilient battles with cancer. These awards will be presented as part of the Engaged in Excellence Awards celebration on Monday, May 2, which will be held in-person at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and live-streamed on the Elmbrook Schools YouTube channel.

Tom Vento is a Lancer graduate and cancer survivor that served the community that raised him for over 30 years through his time at the Brookfield and Elm Grove Police Departments.
