Brookfield Central graduate Tom Vento ('86), and Brookfield East graduate Damian Buchman ('97) are the recipients of the District's 2022 Alumni Excellence awards. The awards are being presented to Tom and Damian for their service to the greater Elmbrook community and their resilient battles with cancer. These awards will be presented as part of the Engaged in Excellence Awards celebration on Monday, May 2, which will be held in-person at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and live-streamed on the Elmbrook Schools YouTube channel.

Tom Vento is a Lancer graduate and cancer survivor that served the community that raised him for over 30 years through his time at the Brookfield and Elm Grove Police Departments.

Molly Conway is a 2001 Lancer graduate who began COPPER+CRONE, a handpicked collection of meaningful objects from women-owned brands that celebrates creativity and positive change.

Sean Markey is a 2015 Lancer graduate who pursued his dream of completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail this year and through his journey worked to raise awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention.
Brookfield Central Alum, Tori Kost, was named the female 2020-21 Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winner earlier this month.
Kost received this award as a senior on the women’s lightweight rowing team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship award recognizes athletes for their sportsmanship, behavior, academics and citizenship.

2001 Lancer graduate Yousuf Syed Khan has travelled the world in his academic and career pursuits, and is currently serving the United Nations as a Human Rights Lawyer.
The Bronzeville Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded and run by five Brookfield East alumni that is addressing food insecurity in Milwaukee. Solomon Stewart (BEHS Class of 2019), Donavan Hunt (BEHS Class of 2020), Samer Bilal (BEHS Class of 2019), Cole Barnes (BEHS Class of 2019), and Cameron Bauer (BEHS Class of 2018) formed friendships during their time at Elmbrook that has transformed into taking action to help others.

1979 Spartan graduate Jill Kokta has given back to Elmbrook with her tireless work ethic and notable spunk for 43 years and in June 2021 she will retire from her position as Senior Communications Coordinator. Jill's Elmbrook journey spanned 55 years from Kindergarten to present and she has left her mark on the District in countless ways.
