School Reopening Task Force

The Task Force will meet five times for two hours over the course of the summer, presenting a Final Recommendation to the Board of Education on Tuesday, August 11. Most, if not all, meetings will be held virtually and simultaneously streamed on Youtube for public viewing. The first meeting is scheduled for 6pm on June 16 and, depending on task force members' availability, we will determine future meeting times that work for the majority of the group. 

Task Force Meeting Dates:

• Tuesday, June 16 (6pm - 8pm)
• Tuesday, June 30 
• Wednesday, July 15 
• Tuesday, July 28 
• Tuesday, August 4 (Cancelled)

Requirements to be a Task Force Member:

1. Compliance with the application materials.

2. Agreement with time commitments for the service to the task force. (No less than five meetings from February to July. Each meeting will last about 2 hours.)

3. Demonstrated willingness to be objective.

4. Effectively prepares for each meeting as required.

1. Identify best practices and recommendations for school reopening from agreed-upon key sources such as DHS guidance, CDC, and County Public Health Officials
2. Identify and report Key Data Dashboard to help inform decision making
3. Develop risk-level scenarios to guide District Work Team Planning
4. Collect and summarize stakeholder feedback
5. Assess Financial Impact to the District for Various Risk Levels
6. Recommend Risk-Level Scenario Triggers and the System Response to Each Scenario
7. Provide guidance on “What If” scenarios to inform the District's response to future events

1. Develop a master facility reopening plan that responds to the requirements and best practices of reopening schools during a pandemic. 
2. Adopt appropriate metrics to guide reopening/closure.
3. Operate as a fiscal steward to the community.
