Alverno College

Overview of offerings:
- A program through Alverno and a partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools has an online program that offers "Licensure for practicing paraprofessionals who have an associate degree (or at least 48 college credits) but not a bachelor's degree".
- Earn a Bachelor of Science in Education in three years or less through online synchronous and asynchronous classes and 18 weeks of student teaching.

Overview of offerings:

- Earn initial or additional licenses, certificates, and/or masters in the areas of literacy, educational leadership, teaching areas

- This program offers DPI Approved Educator Preparation Programs with a high-quality curriculum that is 100% online, and also has on-demand coaching sessions
- Earn your license for K-12 ESL, Bilingual Supplemental, Grades 4-12 Math, K-12 Spanish, and more

Concordia University Wisconsin

Overview of offerings:
- Concordia University Wisconsin is a non-profit university that is accredited by the Higher Learning commission. Programs are approved and accredited by the Wisconsin Department of Instruction (DPI). The Concordia University Wisconsin Education Department adheres to all Wisconsin State Education Department criteria for teacher certification.
- There is still time to reserve a seat in these programs. The University strictly limits enrollment in each program to 20 and accepts reservations on a first come, first served basis.

Edgewood College

Overview of offerings:
- This is an accelerated teaching program geared toward “Working adults and career changers, recent college graduates interested in teaching, emergency licensed (Tier 1) teachers already working in schools.”
- There are 6 starts per year. The courses are 8 weeks long, and can be completed in 12 months
- There are 3 asynchronous tracks: Cross-Categorical Special Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education

Accepting New Students – 2026 Spring - Session II. We are currently enrolling new candidates for our Accelerated Teacher Education Programs, including Elementary/Middle, Secondary, and CCSE, MA Degree, and licensure tracks
- Information about the BA Undergraduate Degree Completion Pathways: Candidates who do not have a BA – Education degree. This is a program that is primarily online, leading to licensure in teaching and the BA Degree.

Educate-WI

Overview of offerings:
- 10 Sped Program is DPI approved program to provide both initial and additional teacher licenses
- Eligibility Requirements: anyone who already has a bachelor's degree and wants to get an initial special education teaching license or for those who already have a general education teaching license and want to add a special education teaching license
- Result of program: Licenses offered in both Early Childhood Special Education (Birth to Grade 3) and Cross Categorical Special Education (Grades K-12)
- Offered online: 4 semesters that take approximately 18 months to complete.

-Eau Claire

Overview of offerings:
- Transition to Teaching Pathway Program “This is a route for nontraditional undergraduate and other adult learners to complete a preparation program and become practicing teachers”
- Eligibility requirements: Approximately 30 credits of general education/liberal arts coursework or an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree
- Result of Program: Eligibility for licensure in both 4k-9 Elementary/Middle Education and 4k-12 Special Education.
- Offered Online and 2 years plus student teaching
- Application start date: September 1, 2024
Application date when file must be complete: May 9, 2025

- Stevens Point

Overview of offerings:
- Add-on Teacher Certifications that are flexible, personalized, and 100% online
- Accelerated Teacher Licensure/Certification Programs

Wisconsin Lutheran College
Overview of offerings:
- This is an excellent program to develop and hone skills that lead to success in the classroom.
- Most courses are offered in-person on our campus in the late afternoon/early evening to accommodate work schedules.
- At the end of the program, students graduate with a Master of Arts in Transition to Teaching and also receive their Wisconsin teaching license.

Marquette University

Overview of Offerings:
- K-12 Cross-Categorical Special Education certification.
- Launching a new course in fall 2025, followed by two more new courses offered in spring 2026 and summer 2026.
- Offering this certification to both undergraduates as a minor and to licensed teachers who return as post-baccalaureate students to earn Special Education license endorsement
- Tuition scholarships may be available for both Milwaukee-area educators and Catholic school educators.
