Meet the Principal
The first thing families will notice about Dixon is our caring, welcoming environment. We take great pride in our facility, keeping it safe and clean, and displaying student work. We also believe in helping others in need. Last year alone we completed over 14 service projects!
I earned my teaching degree in Special Education and Health Education from UW-Platteville, and my administrative degrees from Edgewood College in 2000 and 2010. I am also licensed as a Master Educator by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). Prior to Dixon, I was a Special Education teacher (K-12) for 12 years and have been a school administrator for 16 years. In 2011, I was named the Wisconsin Elementary Principal of the Year, and in 2014, Dixon was recognized as a Title 1 School of Distinction from DPI.
Being a Principal is the perfect fit for me. I love being in classrooms, eating with students in the cafeteria, and greeting students and families. I take great pride in seeing children grow and learn. There isn't anything better than a hug from one of our students. I have such a great staff and enjoy watching them teach. In 2017, I served as President of the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators. I'm excited to be the Wisconsin representative to the NAESP (National Association of Elementary School Principals). When I’m not working, I enjoy running, photography, dining out, landscaping and spending time with my family. I have a 23 year-old son at UW Milwaukee and a daughter who is a senior in high school.
We invite you to visit our school so you can experience for yourself the Dixon spirit!
