Your Child's Attendance
The beginning of the day is an important part of your child's school day -- attendance is taken, lunch choices are made, morning announcements take place and the tone of the day is established. Please ensure your child arrives to school on time. School begins at 8:50 a.m. If they arrive after 8:50 a.m., they will be marked as "tardy." If your child will be late because a doctor appointment, please notify attendance (dixattendance@elmbrookschools.org) and ask your health care provider for a medical excuse. Thank you for your cooperation!
Communication from Teachers & School
You will receive a variety of communication from your child's teacher and Dixon School. This newsletter you are currently reading will be sent to parents in this format on Fridays at 4:01 p.m. You may also receive Messenger messages from me regarding important announcements about late buses or events taking place at Dixon. Classroom teachers will also communicate with a classroom or grade level newsletter.
Traffic Patterns
As a reminder, the buses will be unloading and loading on the south side of the school. The north side of the building is reserved for Parent Drop Off and Pick Up. Remember to enter through the neighborhood (Kevenauer and/or Fieldstone Drive). When you reach the front of the line, your child(ren) can exit your vehicle and enter the building.
School begins at 8:50 a.m. and we release students at 3:40 p.m. All staff will be welcoming your child whether they are riding the bus (South Side of School) or being dropped off (North Side of School).
