Jessica Townsend, the New York Times best-selling author of the Nevermoor series, visited Dixon Elementary on Wednesday, January 9.
She spoke with students about her life's travels, love of writing, and how she created her characters and fantasy world. Townsend shared with students the fantasy books that she loved reading growing up and how they inspired her to become an author.
Townsend visited in promotion of her latest release in her Nevermoor series, Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow. Following her presentation, Jessica answered questions and signed copies of her books with students.
This visit was sponsored by Elmbrook's community partner, Boswell Books. This school year, numerous award-winning authors are scheduled to visit the district as a continuation of our joint initiative to engage students in reading and writing. Click here to see more upcoming author visits.
