It is with a heavy heart we inform our Dixon family of the passing of Karen Poppy.  Karen Poppy, Food Service Lead at Dixon Elementary, passed away on Saturday, November 30, following a brief battle with cancer. Karen's first position in the District was at Hillside in 1998, but in 1999 she transitioned to Dixon's kitchen where she worked through this past school year. In her twenty-one years of service to the Elmbrook Schools, Karen also worked as kitchen support at Wisconsin Hills and Burleigh, and as a part-time custodian at several schools. 

Karen was an outstanding employee who was known for her work ethic and commitment to the District. We extend our deepest sympathies to Karen's three children who also work for the District; Adam Landowski (Dixon), Emily Ledebuhr (PPMS), and Daniel Ledebuhr (Burleigh), as well as her friends and colleagues across Elmbrook as they mourn her loss.
