This winter, the students and staff of Fairview South & Elmbrook’s Project STRIVE took the lead on coordinating efforts to collect and distribute winter clothing to area families in need. This year nearly 150 articles of winter clothing were collected for the drive and students and staff sorted, washed and packaged orders as part of ongoing efforts to provide meaningful opportunities for students, as well as impactful community engagement.
“Having our students, staff and community come together for such an important cause was truly inspiring to see,” said Ann Czajka, Fairview South Office Manager & Project Coordinator. “Thank you to everyone that donated items and to all the students and staff at Fairview South and Project STRIVE for their incredible work to help those in our community.”
This is the second year that Elmbrook has coordinated a winter clothing drive and the effort was made possible in collaboration with members of the Brookfield Elm Grove Interfaith Network (BEGIN) and Mr. Bob’s Under The Bridge located in Grafton. To date, the annual drive has helped provide a total of 594 articles of winter clothing to those in need in the greater Elmbrook and Milwaukee areas.
