Virtual Learning

Overview

The Elmbrook Schools first deployed virtual learning days in 2019 in response to several school cancelations due to inclement weather. We learned many things through that experience that guides are current approach to teaching and learning during the COVID-19 school closure.

Our investment in student 1:1 devices for grades 2-12, as well as several online learning tools that are used daily in each of our classrooms, allows us to transition to a virtual environment more easily than most. In addition, we are fortunate that many of our families have access to the internet at home, and we work with those who do not to find alternative solutions, including loaning hotspots from our school libraries.

As we do in a traditional, face-to-face environment, every effort will be made to meet the needs of all learners during virtual days and students and their families should work with their teachers to identify any accommodations necessary.
