Faris Omari, a Brookfield Central High School senior and Project SEARCH intern at Children’s Wisconsin, was recently spotlighted by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD). Faris was chosen from among approximately 30 Project SEARCH sites across Wisconsin based on his exceptional growth, dedication to the program, positive teamwork, and career readiness.

Project SEARCH is a nine-month internship program that provides students with disabilities hands-on workplace training through a variety of job rotations. During his time at Children’s Wisconsin, Faris gained experience in the Mail and Copy Center, Distribution, and Facilities departments, developing valuable professional and technical skills while building confidence and independence.

“I’d sum up everything by saying I’m excited and ready for work!” Faris shared as he completed the program.

According to Project SEARCH instructor Kristi Staus, Faris has demonstrated tremendous growth throughout the year, becoming more self-aware, building strong workplace relationships, and developing the skills needed for future employment.
