On March 17, award-winning author and illustrator Marc Brown of Arthur fame spoke with over 7,000 students, staff, and community members. Over 20 other Districts in the region joined Elmbrook’s presentation. Brown’s visit was in promotion of his latest book Believe in Yourself: What We Learned from Arthur, which celebrates the iconic kids show after its massive 25-year run that concluded earlier this month. Brown’s interactive presentation included an engaging discussion about his own story and how he started writing Arthur books.
“We were thrilled to have such an esteemed author as Marc Brown speak to our students,” said Communications Specialist Eric Hagen who hosted the event. “My hope is that today’s students will find the same comfort and truth in the lessons that Arthur has taught so many previous generations through screen and print, and will continue to foster a love of learning.”
Marc Brown is the author of more than 100 children’s books and is a three-time Emmy award winner. Author visits are made possible through Elmbrook’s community partnership with Boswell Books and Forever Friends Incorporated. You can learn more about previous and upcoming author visits here.
