The Brookfield Central (BC) Boys Tennis Team was crowned the 2024 WIAA Division 1 state champions on Saturday, June 8. The Lancers defeated Kenosha Indian Trail 7-0 in the quarterfinals, Kimberly 7-0 in the semifinals and Marquette 4-3 in the championship! The team finished the season with an incredible 26-2 record.

“I am proud of this team and all that they’ve been able to accomplish this season,” said Coach Jon Vogt. "This team has responded to every challenge they faced this season. They have stuck together, and with the leadership of our seniors, came up with their best performances in the most difficult situations at sectionals and state."

The previous week at the individual state tournament, Brookfield Central Senior Surya Arvind won two matches, and sophomore Andrey Semin placed in the top 8 in the singles draw respectively, and Aaditya Tiwari (12) Jacob Smith (11) placed second in the Doubles draw. It was the highest finish for a BC boys doubles team in 13 years.
