Brookfield East High School junior, Isabella Ityavkase, was named this year’s champion of the National German Olympiad. After earning the top honor, Isabella secured a full scholarship to represent the United States at the International German Olympiad this July in Mannheim, Germany.

“Isabella is an outstanding student and consistently shows her determination, motivation, and dedication both in the classroom and beyond,” said Kelsie Pattillo-Miller, BEHS World Languages Teacher. “She is a perfect choice to represent our country, and I am thrilled that she won.”

At the international competition, Isabella will compete alongside top students from more than 50 countries, showcasing her German language skills, flexibility, cooperation, and team spirit. The competition is sponsored by the Goethe Institute.

This achievement marks the second consecutive year that a student from Pattillo-Miller’s program has won the national title, highlighting the continued excellence of Brookfield East’s German program.

Congratulations to Isabella and best of luck on the world stage!
