The co-Brookfield Central / Brookfield East boys swim team, the Brookfield Barracudas, took home the Division 1 gold in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay at the WIAA State Swim and Dive Meet this month! The team consisted of Tom Bergin (Central), Caleb Smith (East), Luke Thomas (East), and Logan Loppnow (Central) with a time of 1:25.32.
Central Senior Tom Bergin also placed third in the 50 Yard Freestyle, just 55 milliseconds behind first place. Additional place winners came from the following athletes:
- 100 Yard Freestyle: Logan Loppnow (5th), Tom Bergin (6th)
- 400 Yard Freestyle Relay Team: Tom Bergin, Caleb Smith, Eric Hou (Central), Logan Loppnow (6th)
- 200 Yard Individual Medley: Luke Dinusson-Wiger (8th, Central)
- 200 Yard Medley Relay Team: Luke Thomas, Luke Dinusson-Wiger, Eric Hou, Caleb Smith (12th)
- 200 Yard Freestyle: Logan Loppnow (13th)
- 100 Yard Backstroke: Luke Thomas (15th), Owen Prescott (16th, East)
- 100 Yard Breaststroke: Luke Dinusson-Wiger (16th)
- 500 Yard Freestyle: Brady Crayne (19th, Central)
- 50 Yard Freestyle: Eric Hou (21st)
Overall the team placed fourth overall with 138 points. Congratulations to all the student-athletes and coaches Donkersgoed and Sykes on another great season!
