Dixon Third Graders Cameron Drees and Anirudh Sai Muralidharan qualified for the IAC National Science Bee that will take place in Orlando this coming June. Cameron placed 6th among 40 candidates while participating in the online regional finals for the Midwest States and Anirudh placed 10th among 40 candidates in the online regional finals for the West Coast States. These strong performances advanced both boys to the National level!

Cameron and Anirudh are members of the Elmbrook Science Bee Club and in preparation for the competitions, they studied questions, read a variety of science books, and participated in online practice sessions. The Bees have included questions about Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Space Science, and Energy. “I’m excited to be going to Nationals,” stated Cameron. “Science is something I want to study further and get better at. Everyone should learn about science as it makes you feel good about yourself.”

Anirudh added, “I am also very excited to go to Nationals. I like Life Science and Earth Science the most and have had a lot of fun learning and reading about science this year!”

Congratulations to Cameron and Anirudh and best of luck at Nationals! Special thanks to coaches and advisors Muralidharan Sethuraman, Ed Wang, and Dhrumil Bhagat for making these experiences possible.
