Oscar Corwin (Brookfield East ‘24) won the WIAA Division 1 Tennis Singles championship on June 3 with a 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 victory in the title match. Corwin, the top seed in the tournament, beat out De Pere’s second-seeded player and finished his season with an impressive 34-1 record, improving his sixth-place finish last season.

“Oscar’s dedication to the sport is tremendous,” reflected head coach Linda Lied. “This state championship is the payoff for years of hard work and determination. Oscar’s improvement from his sixth-place finish last year to taking the title has been wonderful to watch unfold.”

Additionally, Brookfield East’s Sam Klein placed fourth in Singles, losing a closely contested match against Middleton. This is Oscar and Sam’s third consecutive state appearance, having both been a part of the state-winning teams for East in 2021 and 2022. Congratulations to Oscar, Sam, Coach Lied, and all the members of the Brookfield East Boys Tennis team on another successful season!
