The Elmbrook Food Service Team hosted its first-ever District-wide Food Show on Tuesday, August 25, welcoming approximately 400 community members and students to Brookfield East High School. The event gave students and families an opportunity to sample potential new menu items, meet members of the District’s kitchen teams and provide direct feedback on the future of school meals.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees sampled dozens of current favorites and prospective menu additions for the 2026-27 school year from vendors. Students were invited to weigh in through a “Buy or Bye” voting process, giving the Food Service Team feedback on which items they would like to see added to future school menus.

The event was designed to make students an active part of the menu-development process while also giving families a closer look at the people and planning behind Elmbrook’s Food & Nutrition program.

“We had a fantastic turnout and great response from community members that attended,” reflected Caitlin Harrison, Director of Food Service. “It was such a joy to see immediate reactions from students and to get to talk with parents about what goes into making a school meal!”

Feedback collected during the Food Show will help guide menu decisions throughout the 2026-27 school year, with top-rated items under consideration for future rotation.

The Food Show also provided an opportunity for attendees to connect directly with Elmbrook cooks and Food Service staff who prepare and serve meals to students across the District each day.
