Cathy Rayburn is the Receptionist at Wisconsin Hills Middle School, where she brings energy, warmth, and positivity to students, families, and staff every day. Cathy especially loves connecting with students and their families, and she takes pride in creating an uplifting environment with a smile, laugh, or even the occasional practical joke.

“My father taught me the value of hard work, being mindful of others, and always finding the fun in life,” Cathy reflected. “That’s where my love for humor and practical jokes got started.”

For Cathy, success is measured by the number of positive interactions she has each day. She is deeply proud of her family and the two children she and her husband raised, now thriving adults at ages 27 and 25, who have carried forward the same strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Cathy enjoys having her TV on around the clock - whether for shows, movies, or music - as background noise she can’t live without. If given the chance, she’d love to share lunch with actress Sandra Bullock, who she admires for her humor, talent, and ability to make an impact on screen.

Showcasing her incredible work ethic and commitment to students and staff - in 2025, she was a finalist for the golden apple award in Excellence in Service & Support. One little-known fact about Cathy is her incredible story of resilience: diagnosed with cancer the day before her wedding, she will celebrate 30 years in remission from Leukemia on December 25, 2025. Her journey has shaped the way she approaches each day - with gratitude, laughter, and positivity.
