Mary Golab is the Kitchen Manager at Brookfield East High School who keeps the bustling area running smoothly for students and staff. Mary is responsible for leading the food service team as East, producing food for the school, providing input on menu planning, and overseeing daily operations. She loves the freedom to be creative in her work, and her favorite part of the day is interacting with the high school students. Mary enjoys getting to hear about their days and getting to know them as individuals.

Mary’s work ethic and motivation is inspired by two strong women - her mother and Michelle Obama. “I am constantly inspired by my mother,” reflected Golab. “She is 90 years old and after having a stroke 30 years ago, she has continued to persevere through all that life has thrown at her.” Mary’s passion for food permeates to all aspects of her life. “I could never live without my cookbooks.”

Outside of work, Mary is most proud of the two self-confident and independent daughters that she has raised with her husband who have pursued their passions in life.
