On Tuesday, September 26th, America’s most beloved author, teacher, and school librarian, John Schu, visited Brookfield Elementary and Swanson Elementary libraries in promotion of his new book, This Is a Story (released 3/14/23). Schu spoke to over 700 highly engaged kindergarten through third graders about how reading builds our brain power, imaginations, and most importantly, capacious hearts. He shared excerpts of a few of his favorite books with the audience, and gifted copies of the books to several children in attendance. 

“Wow! Do we feel lucky to have been able to host author John Schu!" said Christine Ratajczyk, Swanson Library Lead. “John spreads an incredible amount of joy for books and reading!”
