The School District of Elmbrook’s Board of Education approved the appointment of Liza Weber as Associate Principal at Swanson Elementary School at their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 14.

Ms. Weber was selected following a competitive recruitment process. She brings more than 15 years of experience in education, including extensive work in instructional leadership, curriculum development, professional learning and teacher coaching.

She currently serves as Math Coordinator for the Wauwatosa School District, where she leads K-12 curriculum and instructional improvement efforts. In this role, she partners with school and district leaders to establish goals, implement districtwide plans and evaluate progress through student performance data, assessment trends and educator feedback.

Prior to becoming Math Coordinator, Ms. Weber served as an Instructional Coach in Wauwatosa and an Effectiveness Coach in the School District of Waukesha. Her experience includes coaching general and special education teachers, leading professional learning, coordinating assessment systems and supporting Multi-Level Systems of Support, gifted education and math intervention programming.

Ms. Weber began her career as a Kindergarten teacher in Waukesha, where she also served as a building math teacher leader. She has also taught graduate-level courses as an adjunct instructor at Carroll University and worked as an academic coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood-Middle Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. She holds Wisconsin licenses as a Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

“We are excited to welcome Liza to the Swanson community,” said Brandon Buchmann, Principal of Swanson Elementary School. “Her experience supporting educators, strengthening instructional systems and building collaborative teams will be a strong addition to our school. Liza brings a clear commitment to student-centered leadership, and we look forward to the relationships she will build with our students, staff and families.”

Ms. Weber will officially begin in her role on August 3, 2026.
