The Brookfield Jaycees has selected Brookfield Central Social Studies Teacher, Matt Dapelo, as their 2024 Outstanding Educator. This is the last year of the Jaycees annual Distinguished Service Awards that honors one Outstanding Police Officer, Outstanding Firefighter, and Outstanding Educator. Matt was nominated by Brookfield Central’s administrative team for his leadership and student-driven impact in the building. In addition to Dapelo’s great work in the classroom, he also is actively involved in AVID and leads BC’s Student Council which he was previously named the 2020 Region 4 Advisor of the Year.

“Matt is constantly striving to improve his craft in his classroom and share his passion and ideas with his colleagues,” reflected Brett Gruetzmacher, Principal of Brookfield Central. “Matt is always present and guiding his students, but ultimately steps aside and lets the students lead the way. His work with the Student Council has had a profound impact on the student body and our community.”
