Congratulations to the Pilgrim Park Middle School team of Amber Li, Lily Sun, Parth Dharmadhikari and Jeffrey Xu for winning the 2023 Mathcounts State Championship! The state championship took place on March 4 in Sheboygan. In addition to the team’s collective accolade, individual honors were won by Jeffrey Xu who took first place and Amber Li who placed eighth in the competition.

Mathcounts is a national middle school mathematics competition that builds problem-solving skills and fosters achievement through four levels of fun, in-person "bee" style contests. The team won the Waukesha Chapter Competition this February to qualify for the state tournament, and now Jeffrey Xu will continue on to represent Wisconsin in the Mathcounts National Competition in Florida this May. Jeffrey will be joined by three other Wisconsin students from other schools across the state and will compete with 224 total students from across the country for both individual and team awards.

Congratulations to all these students and their advisors on this exceptional accomplishment, and good luck to Jeffrey as he continues to nationals!
