Elmbrook has expanded the School Resource Officer (SRO) program to the middle schools to further strengthen the connection between our schools and the police department, as we work together to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Beginning January 3, Pilgrim Park will welcome Officer Steve Weber and Wisconsin Hills will welcome Officer Carlton Nolen. The expansion of the program was approved by the Board of Education at the October 25 board meeting.

The SRO program was started at Brookfield Central and Brookfield East in 2020 and has been successful in building positive relationships between law enforcement and the student body, as well as providing an added sense of security throughout the school day. Weber and Nolen join Officers Tony Kader (BCHS) and Stephanie Zartner (BEHS) as they provide SRO services to the Elmbrook community.

Together, the two new SROs have a combined 18 years of law enforcement experience that they bring to Elmbrook. You can learn more about Officer Weber here and Officer Nolen here.

“We are looking forward to the implementation of our middle school SROs as a resource for students and school safety,” said Superintendent Mark Hansen. “Our SRO program has been extraordinary at the high schools and we thank Officers Kader and Zartner for their continued service to our school communities. We are also thankful for our partnership with the Brookfield and Elm Grove Police Departments and are pleased to welcome Officers Weber and Nolen.”
