Lori GolomskiBrookfield Central Class of 1981

Lori Golomski is a 1981 Lancer graduate whose work in Benefits has impacted employees across Elmbrook for 40 years.

Lori's Elmbrook journey took her from Swanson Elementary / Cottage Elementary and Linfield Elementary before attending Wisconsin Hills Middle School and Brookfield Central. While at Central, she was highly engaged in her Business Courses. During her senior year at Central, Lori started working in the Food Service Department. Following graduation, she quickly worked her way into a Statistical Secretary position before becoming an Insurance Administrative Assistant. Lori married her husband, Marlin in 1988 and they had two sons, Zach and Luke. In 1992 she received her first Outstanding Employee Award.

In 1997, Lori became the Benefits Coordinator and has completely transformed the position since. Lori's knowledgeable work and advancements to the benefits program have had an incredible impact on the financial health of the District and its employees - saving several millions of dollars in healthcare costs. Through her work, Golomski has increased employee and retiree accessibility to benefits through digital resources, the implementation of the Elmbrook Schools Family Wellness Center, and the launch of the Total Employee Rewards brand to name a few.

"With much pride I believe that Elmbrook has always been the leader in innovative ideas and regard for students, community and employees," said Lori. "I am proud of the work we continue in the areas of educating employees to make the most of their benefits and the variety of wellness strategies offered in support of healthy and happy members." In 2020, Lori's dedication to customer service and all Elmbrook employees was acknowledged as she was awarded the Golden Apple for Excellence in Service & Support - Individual. Her Elmbrook career spanned 4 decades and in 2021, she will be awarded the Alumni Excellence Award as part of the 6th Annual Engaged in Excellence Awards event.

Today, Lori lives in Menomonee Falls and is looking forward to spending her retirement relaxing with family and friends, doing fun projects, playing games, travelling and floating in the sun. Lori will be greatly missed by her Elmbrook teammates, colleagues, and community members alike. We all thank her for her service to Elmbrook and we wish her the best as she becomes what's next.
