Brookfield Central Alum, Tori Kost, was named the female 2020-21 Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winner earlier this month.
Kost received this award as a senior on the women’s lightweight rowing team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship award recognizes athletes for their sportsmanship, behavior, academics and citizenship.
Kost is a 2017 Brookfield Central graduate who participated in track and field, cross country, and basketball. Her sportsmanship was evident early on as she was a recipient of a Lancer Athletic Award and named Basketball Team MVP during her years at BC.
Kost continues to show her drive to excel as a student-athlete at the collegiate level as she was also named honoree for the 2021 Eli Stikely Believe Award and Perseverance Award. Kost believes that “Wisconsin rowing means family. We may not be linked together by blood, but we are linked together by the same passion, drive, sweat and tears we share at every practice and every regatta.”
