On Tuesday, May 25, the Board of Education held a special Citizens' Forum Listening Session at Brookfield Central High School which arose following the regular May 11 Board Meeting. The Forum was focused on the District's proposed Equity Principles that are included in the District Strategy Map Draft for 2020-21, and was held because of the community's interest on the topic.

The Elmbrook School Board and District Administration are appreciative of our community's engagement last evening on a topic that is attracting attention across the country. As one of the top school districts in the state of Wisconsin, we remain committed to serving all students, removing barriers to educational opportunities, and challenging each student to reach their full potential. We are equally committed to providing factual information about our curriculum, the purpose of the equity principles, as well as the development of our staff, and we will continue to share this information with our community and all those willing to listen. The Equity Principles are not a curriculum or a program, but rather serve as guideposts designed to inform our work as we strive to achieve our District's vision of preparing every student for college, career and life success.
