The District's total student enrollment of 7,700 continues to climb, nearing projections and already exceeding last year's enrollment by over 400 students. In the first two weeks of August alone, the District has welcomed 74 students and their families as residents move into the Elmbrook Community and complete their enrollments. Including 4-year-old and 5-year-old Kindergarten students, as well as move-ins, the District will have over 1,300 new students this year.
Said Superintendent Mark Hansen, "The School District of Elmbrook continues to be a destination District for families who seek a high-quality education with endless opportunities. I am excited for the upcoming school year and I look forward to welcoming all of our students back to school on September 1."
In February 2021, the District projected enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year to be 7,755, a number that could be exceeded by the official enrollment count date in September. Even without the addition of its 4-year-old Kindergarten program, the District is expected to exceed last year's enrollment by 75-100 students. An accurate projection supports a detailed budget and staffing plan and is critical to the District's long-term success. The District's current resident enrollment totals are the highest in the 21st century, and were last seen in 1981.
