The Medical Advisory Board met on Wednesday, April 14. A robust discussion was had regarding any type of relaxation of mitigation measures, specifically mask-wearing, with no conclusions reached. There is general recognition that establishing a phased-approach will be difficult, as it is proving to be for most states and local authorities. For now, the Advisory Board reconfirmed its commitment to requiring masks of all students and staff until more research is available and community spread retreats.

Staff case and quarantine data is trending positively, likely a result of vaccination efforts. At the advisement of the Board, the District will distribute factual information and resources regarding vaccination for students 16 and up next week, so that families can make their own informed decision.

Senior Leaders focused on staffing this week, as several staff received the 2nd dose of the vaccine and expected side effects impacted staff members in different ways. Staff attendance overall remains strong, with a 95% attendance rate for our teaching staff this year.
