Description:

When someone dies by suicide, it is tragic, devastating and heart-breaking. It may be difficult to understand and suicide triggers complicated grief. September is Suicide Awareness Month and provides a time to focus on this important, but difficult to talk about subject. You might be surprised to learn that being attuned to the people you care about and having a courageous conversation might save someone’s life.

2. Look at some alarming statistics and trends about suicide.
3. Recognize warning signs.
4. Understand risk and protective factors.
5. Know how to respond when concerned about someone.
6. Feel more confident having potentially life-saving conversations.
