On November 5, local author Stef Wade spoke with over 765 students, staff, and community members on her new book, The Very Last Leaf. Perfect for an autumn science curriculum, her book addresses scientific themes like photosynthesis and wind resistance, along with social emotional struggles and life transitions, in a fun way accessible to even the youngest learners. Her interactive presentation included an engaging reading of her book, audience polls, and concluded with answering questions from students.
"The main goal of our author visits is to present reading as the fun and exciting gift it is. When we have 95 percent of student survey respondents sharing they plan on reading this book or another book by Stef Wade, we feel we've hit the mark," said Kay Benning, Director of Library Services.
These author visits are made possible through Elmbrook's community partnership with Boswell Books. You can learn more about previous and upcoming author visits here.
