The Kettle Moraine Press Association (KEMPA) hosted the 55th Annual KEMPA Scholastic Journalism Conference on October 12th at UW-Whitewater. Both Brookfield Central and Brookfield East received well-deserved recognition for their work.

Brookfield East's Lindsay Skatrud received KEMPA's Nancy Becker Newspaper Adviser of the Year award for her work with the Spartan Banner. The BCHS Legend Yearbook received the honor rating of All KEMPA in the 2018 Publication Contest for their 2018 Legend entitled Crossing the Line. This is the 10th time Central has received this honor. Additionally, the Brookfield Central Tyro Newspaper received first place in from KEMPA in their respective category. Numerous awards were received by Brookfield Central for their work in design, reporting, and photography, view the individual awardees below.
