Brookfield Central Girls Golf Wins State Championship

On October 13, the Brookfield Central Girls Golf Team took home the Division 1 State Championship for the first time since 2003! The team played through the elements at the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run, finishing with a score of +84, ten strokes ahead of Waunakee. Brookfield Central's title follows a second place finish in last year's championship, and ten straight WIAA state tournament appearances.

The four scorers for BCHS all finished in the top 25 overall with senior Kyley Wipper in fifth, junior Sarah Balding tying for sixth, senior Erin Rosencrantz tying for 17th, senior CJ Romero tying for 25th. Nora Purtell and Eva Kumer split play, tying for 32nd. "We are so proud of all that our athletes continue to achieve during this unusual sports season and school year," said Don Kurth, Associate Principal for Athletics & Activities.

Congratulations to the team, Head Coach Brian Scrobel, and Assistant Coaches Dan Wandrey, Scott Gustafson, and Sean Harkinson on your incredible victory! You can read Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's coverage of the state tournament here.
