This past weekend the Spartan Chess Team took third place at the State Chess Championships. Congratulations to varsity team of Grady Ma, Jack Hicks, Anthony Mikolajweski, David Turicek, and team captain Glenn Chen. They scored impressive victories over Milwaukee Reagan, Rufus King, and Nekoosa High School.

Medalists were Grady and Jack in Division 1, and Wyatt Tierney and John Archibald in Division 3. Wyatt was the highest scorer on the team with 3½ points!

Graduating senior, Anthony Mikolajweski, has been recognized at BEHS for both his fine playing career and leadership contributions to the team.
