The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) recently completed their review of applications for the School-Based Mental Health Services Grant Program. The School District of Elmbrook has been awarded funding in the amount of $15,000 following Governor Tony Evers signing of the state 2019-21 biennial budget, which increased funding for the grants. Elmbrook's grant will allow for the expansion of The Lighthouse Project, an outreach program of NAMI Waukesha, which was piloted during the 2019 spring semester at Brookfield Central and East with great success.
The Wisconsin DPI has awarded a collective $6.5 million in school mental health grants to public schools across the state. Click here for additional information on the grants.
