ribbon cutting

On Tuesday, December 9, the brand new Peace Out Production Studio opened its doors at Brookfield East High School. The studio, inspired by Brookfield East alumnae Mikey Schlifske, features high-end equipment to help students learn and develop their skills in video and audio production.

“Today we celebrate the equipment that will take student learning and the Art Department at Brookfield East to the next level, providing them with real-world experience in broadcasting, podcasting, and production,” stated Vicky Molitor, Graphic Design Teacher at BEHS.

The studio not only serves as a production hub for the school but also a testament to graduate Mikey Schlifske and the impact that one person can make through their positivity, creativity and resilience. “I am so grateful that I did graphic design and video projects here, but now it’s time for [the next generation of students] to do it,” Mikey reflected at the space’s ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The studio was made possible by a generous donation from the Schlifske Family Foundation and was brought to life through the work of the BEHS Art Department & Administration, Elmbrook Communications Team, Facilities Department, and Elmbrook Technology Team.

You can see Mikey’s speech from the ribbon-cutting event below. Peace Out!
