2020 Brookfield East graduate Lexi Penney has been named the Waukesha Freeman's 2019-20 Female Athlete of the Year. This award comes after a high school career that left her as an 11-time varsity letterwinner and seven-time state qualifier in gymnastics, diving, and pole vault.
Penney began her athletic career at East by winning the balance beam state title her freshman year and ended it as a member of the state champion swimming and diving team this past winter. This year, she was also named a WIAA Female Scholar Athlete and the recipient of BEHS's Female Spartan Athlete Award. Lexi will attend the University of Denver in the Fall.
