The School District of Elmbrook's Board of Education confirmed the Administration's recommendation of Martin Castro as Swanson Elementary Associate Principal on Thursday, August 29.
"We are thrilled to welcome Martin Castro to our Swanson family," said Swanson Elementary Principal Kori Hartman. "Martin's experience as a School Counselor and understanding of the whole child will add great value to our school community."
"I am honored to have been selected as the new Associate Principal of Swanson," said Castro. "I look forward to building relationships with Swanson's students, staff, and families throughout this school year."
Prior to his position in Elmbrook, Martin served as a School Counselor for Edgewood Elementary in Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District (2012-19) where he helped lead and facilitate various student learning and engagement teams, and as Lead Counselor & Transition School Aide for Saint A's Residential Treatment Center (2008-12). He earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 2008, Masters in Educational Psychology in 2012, and will complete his Masters in Educational Leadership in 2019.
Martin Castro has begun his transition to his new role at Swanson Elementary and looks forward to meeting students and families on the first day of school.
