Mike Rose Advances to Become NFHS National Girls Swimming Coach of the Year

Mike RoseBrookfield East Coach Mike Rose has been named the recipient of the the 2019-20 National Federation of State High School Association's (NFHS) National Girls Swimming Coach of the Year! This award follows Rose's recognition as NFHS's Coach of the Year for both Wisconsin and the Central Section (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin).

"Coach Rose has created and fostered an amazing program throughout his nearly 40 years of coaching for Elmbrook and this award is well deserved," said Ben Westphal, BEHS Associate Principal for Athletics and Activities. "Brookfield East is proud of Coach Rose and the continued outstanding efforts of him and his student-athletes."

Award recipients are selected based upon a variety of criteria including their coaching record, background, coaching honors, philosophy of coaching, and involvement in community and school organizations. His recognition from NFHS follows Rose's Division 1 Swimming Coach of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (WISCA) in May 2020, and the Brookfield East's Girls Swimming and Diving's second consecutive state championship this past Fall.
