Mike RoseBrookfield East Coach Mike Rose has been named the recipient of the the 2019-20 National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Girls Swimming Coach of the Year Award for Wisconsin!

This award follows Brookfield Easts's Girls Swimming and Diving first-ever state championship in the Fall of 2019, which also earned Rose the Division 1 Swimming Coach of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (WISCA) in May. "We are so proud of the incredible work that Coach Rose has done to craft this swimming and diving program," said Ben Westphal, BEHS Associate Principal for Athletics and Activities. "This award is well-deserved and stands as a testament to the team of coaches he has developed and for their dedication to our student-athletes."

The NFHS annually recognizes a coach from each state for significant achievement in their sport. State level recipients are considered for NFHS Sectional recognition with the opportunity to advance to become a National Coach of the Year. Award recipients are selected based upon a variety of criteria including their coaching record, background, coaching honors, and involvement in community and school organizations. Each year approximately 1000 coaches are recognized at the state level across the country.

Congratulations to Mike and the entire Brookfield East Girls Swimming and Diving team for this honor.
