MidAmerica LogoAnnually, Elmbrook contributes to a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) for employees who are in Tiers 2 and 3 of the District provided retirement plan. Upon qualified retirement under the Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) plan, HRA contributions become available as a premium payment plan to cover costs of insurance purchased by the retiree.  Employees in Tier 2 and 3 with account contributions receive quarterly statements mailed directly from MidAmerica and will see the following deposit designated on their June 11th paystub based on the following employment type.  Note, employees must be in good standing at the close of year to qualify for contribution.  Annual contributions, pro-rated based on contract percentage and days worked during the year, are as follows:

  • Support/Special Category-Confidential   $   500  
  • Teachers/Special Category-Leadership   $1,000
  • Administrators                                     $2,000

Tier 1 members of the OPEB plan have the option for HRA contributions beginning at the time of retirement or continued health insurance, up to five years. In addition, Elmbrook also matches the employee contribution to the state pension plan through WRS-ETF (Wisconsin Retirement System-Employee Trust Funds).
