During the 2018-19 school year, our students checked out over 270,000 print books and 60,000 ebooks from our libraries. This Fall, in addition to their regular duties, each of our Library Assistants demonstrated outstanding leadership in the coordination of our author and illustrator visits. Led by Director of Library Services Kay Benning, our K-8 schools hosted 9 authors who presented to 2,500 students through our partnership with Boswell Books, which are designed to inspire a love of reading and writing and promote the value of student literacy. These visits required a significant amount of work coordinating book sales, organizing signings for students, and assisting the visiting authors.
