Congratulations and Dedications are in order this cold and snowy Monday morning.
This past Friday night, while you were all at home playing video games, eating, watching T.V. and decompressing from your crazy week, our 30 dedicated forensics students, 3 amazing coaches, and 6 parent volunteers and helpers continued to work by performing virtually and/or judging virtually at the Longfellow Meet from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Our team took 2nd place out of 36 teams performing, approximately 800 students in the meet. This passion and hard work from our 30 forensics team members finally paid off. Here is the link if you wish to watch the 7 min awards ceremony. Congratulations to these 12 amazing performers!
Myself (Mrs. Reedy), Miss McCall, and Mrs. Stewart would like to dedicate our 2nd place team trophy to our forever-in-our-hearts coach, the late and great Mrs. Helen Andrews. It was 2 years ago around this time in the school year, when she suddenly left our lives, our forensic students' lives, and our Pilgrim Park Middle School. Not a day passes when I don’t glance at her office next to the library where her plaque hangs without thinking about her lasting legacy in this school. She was a pivotal member of our team and it has taken us 2 years to earn a team trophy again, something she was well-known for doing with the forensics teams she coached. Well, we had some big shoes to fill, and finally, after 2 years of hard work and a crazy roller coaster of seasons, we have finally won a trophy as a PPMS forensics team. Cheers Helen! This one's for you! Thank you for continuing to inspire us all as public speakers and performers from your place up above!
