On Thursday, October 4, best-selling author Jennifer Holm visited Tonawanda Elementary. Holm spoke to students from Tonawanda and Swanson about how she incorporates science in her writing, and how some of the most wonderful discoveries happen by accident. She drew some of her book characters, and answered student questions. Following the presentation, she signed books with students and provided encouragement for their reading and writing adventures.

Jennifer Holm is a three-time Newbery Medal winner for her novels Penny From Heaven, Turtle in Paradise and Our Only May Amelia. Her visit was in promotion of her latest book, The Third Mushroom.
