This February, the WHMS Mock Trial Team #7 won the state championship, edging De Pere Middle School in a 101-99 state final challenge. The championship was conducted virtually at Brookfield Central High School and was judged by a professional Waukesha attorney.
“This team had an incredible season,” said Coach Jon Vogt. “After losing the first trial of the season they went on a 65-day winning streak to finish the season with a record of 7-1.”
Though there has been a club in the past, this year marked the first for an official middle school mock trial league. Over 60 Wisconsin Hills students competed in total this season. The state-winning team included students: Prisha Parajuli, Aanya Regmi, Shreya Gupta, Oviya Siva, Eureka Subedi, Tanvi Manria, and Stella Hu. Congratulations to these students and coaches Jon Vogt and Tammy Dentice!
