On Thursday, October 26, in honor of Veteran's Day, WWII veteran and author Eugene Schulz came to speak with the 7th graders at Wisconsin Hills Middle School.
He discussed his time in Europe during the war and how he was an eyewitness to the liberation of concentration camps in Ohrdruf, Germany. He also spoke about why he wanted to chronicle his experiences and publish his memoir.
Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and meet Mr. Schulz as well.
Afterwards, the students wrote thank you letters to veterans that will be delivered on the next Stars and Stripes Honor Flight!
